Dr. Joerg Bohlmann is a Professor in the Departments of Botany and Forestry at the University of British Columbia, Michael Smith Laboratories. The emphasis of Dr. Bohlman's research is on conifer defense against insects, and on the molecular biochemistry and genomics of terpenoids. Dr. Bohlmann will work on the discovery of novel genes and enzymes for diterpenoid and santalol biosynthesis and the development of the abietic acid prototype pathway for the PhytoMetaSyn Project. He holds a Ph.D in Biology from the Technical University Braunschweig, Germany. |
